Peso Pluma (Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, born June 15, 1999) is a Mexican superstar known for popularizing corridos tumbados, blending traditional regional Mexican music with trap, hip-hop, and reggaeton, catapulting him to global fame with hits like "Ella Baila Sola" (with Eslabon Armado) and "La Bebe" (with Yng Lvcas). Hailing from Jalisco, he taught himself guitar via YouTube, wrote songs as therapy, and broke records, becoming the first Mexican artist with a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and winning a Grammy for Best Música Mexicana Album for his 2023 album Genesis.
