King Charles III (born November 14, 1948) acceded to the British throne on September 8, 2022, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. As the longest-serving heir apparent in British history, he was invested as Prince of Wales in 1969. A former naval pilot and Cambridge graduate, he is a dedicated environmentalist and founder of The Prince’s Trust.
