Rachel Maddow (born April 1, 1973) is a prominent American liberal television host, political commentator, and author known for hosting The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC since 2008. As the first openly gay prime-time news anchor in the U.S., she is recognized for her in-depth, analytical monologues on current events. She is a Rhodes Scholar with a doctorate in political science from Oxford University.
