David Muir (born November 8, 1973) is a prominent American journalist and Emmy-winning anchor, best known as the Managing Editor and Anchor of ABC World News Tonight with David Muir since 2014, which is the most-watched evening newscast in the U.S.. Raised in Syracuse, New York, he began his career at WTVH-TV before rising through the ranks at ABC News, covering major international stories and co-anchoring 20/20.
